The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 “Wong Ang - Orange” is a collaboration between the South Korean based brand and Nike on a collection of colorways of the retro running shoe inspired by Wong Ang—which means the unity of people in the Korean language. The two-shoe pack tells the story of the traditional Korean custom that involves Wong Ang Ducks, a set of carved wooden ducks given to newlywed couples. The shoe’s design is complete with a combination of materials in orange, burgundy, blue, and teal on the upper. Specifically, a teal faux pony hair textile can be found on the eyelet panel and mid-panel. The mudguard is constructed in a split orange and burgundy hairy suede on the toe and forefoot, and on the heel, respectively. The hues of green and blue on the shoe’s upper evoke the duck’s natural surroundings.
