xThe Nike Air Max 1 “Puerto Rico” is a premium edition of the iconic Air Max running shoe in a special colorway celebrating Puerto Rican heritage. Released in June 2019 just in time for the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City, the festive colorway features a color scheme inspired by the country’s flag with a white mesh and leather base and mismatched blue and red accents on opposite shoes. Special details include die-cut side Swooshes, a bumpy texture on the mudguards inspired by ostrich skin, striped laces, Puerto Rican flags embroidered on each heel, and the message “Palante Mi Gente” on the inside of the tongues. The Air Max 1 “Puerto Rico” released on June 1, 2019 in limited quantities.
